A seriously relevant question. Are you working for your dreams, or are you the unsung hero in someone else’s blockbuster?
So, here’s a piece of my working saga: I devoted a solid 16 years to an organization, pulling in those marathon shifts of 12 to 14 hours a day, five days a week, and a weekend that often felt like an extended shift. Why? Well, to fund those grand family plans, of course! Sadly, when I did find some free time, I was so fatigued that quality family time resembled a tired game of hide-and-seek.

The realisation hit hard – I wasn’t the maestro of my dreams; I was conducting someone else’s symphony. Cue the decision to become the CEO of my own dreams by starting my own company. Fast forward six years, and the realization dawns again – I’ve transitioned from chasing my dreams to playing dream host for my fantastic staff. It might sound like a sitcom plot, but at the end of the month, when salaries and payments are due and the bank account’s playing hide-and-seek, I’m the one skipping the payday dance.
And then the Vacations as a small business owner? Ah, that elusive timeshare getaway. Either cancelled due to work commitments or spent dodging calls on a supposed ‘timeout holiday.’ The struggle is real, my friends.
There’s that question again!!
Enter the trip through Namaqualand in August, where the age-old question resurfaced: Whose dream is it, anyway? My dreams had taken a scenic detour, leaving me as directionless as my Garmin GPS without signal. That’s when fate, in the form of an online opportunity, knocked on my virtual door – an opportunity to transform life’s chaos into reclaiming control.
Why do I rave about it? Because it’s the full monty! Not just tech support and tools, but a detailed training program with more modules than a spaceship manual. Perfect for us non-techies navigating the alien language of the online world. And let’s not forget the personal growth segment – a side dish of self-improvement with your business feast. Something I have not seen in any online program… most of us have forgotten who we are and to rediscover your old self is so empowering. I am going to urge you to go have a look at it. Especially if you find yourself questioning who’s dream you working for?

Still Early Days!
We’re still in the early chapters of this online adventure. I’m only halfway through the training at this point, and what you see in these posts is my version of the ‘edutainment’ journey. As one of our Instagram post recently declared, ‘It’s amazing how people think that two years is a long time for a new business to succeed, but think it’s alright to stay broke at a job for 40 years.’ With this in mind, our journey has begun, but we’re placing bets on a 12-month countdown – 11 months left until we’re free of the present every day stresses the monthly anxieties, so that can start living our true potential as Responsible…Irresponsible Adults. Stay tuned! 🚀✨
