We’re already well into our second year, as irresponsible adults, and what a whirlwind it’s been! If we’ve learned anything so far, it’s that life doesn’t slow down, but that’s exactly why we’re here – to inspire and live the adventure, purpose, and growth that make every day feel like we’re chasing new dreams. Whether it’s unexpected twists, personal growth, or just plain embracing the joy of living outside the conventional box, 2025 has been a year of big moments for us, and we want to share our progress.
A New Chapter in Our Journey
This year, Dibs and I took the plunge and started living our dream life. After achieving 99% of our goals in 2024, we officially stepped into the phase of life we’ve worked so hard for – the freedom to travel, explore new passions, and embrace a life that’s all about adventure, connection, and growth. No more being confined to the grind. We’re putting it all into action and truly living the life we’ve dreamed about for so long.
From planning spontaneous trips to seeking new ways to engage with the world, we’ve found new sources of inspiration every day. The kind of adventures that don’t just fill our passports but fill our hearts. And it’s been incredible to see others join us on this journey, shedding old constraints and stepping into a life of renewed courage, self-discovery, and possibility.
Stepping Into New Roles
This year, it’s not just about doing more – it’s about doing the things that matter most to us. With the success of our affiliate marketing business, we’re not tied to the clock or anyone’s schedule anymore. And with the flexibility that comes with it, we’ve been able to pour more energy into our Irresponsible Adults community and bring you even more of what you need to feel inspired to chase your own dreams.
But thats not all!!! our kids are doing so well which also gives up peace of mind to follow our own journey.
Mitch and Carrie’s Success
Mitch’s Tennis Academy, Groundstrokes, continues to thrive, with Mitch being selected as the National Coach for South Africa’s junior tennis teams—a huge accomplishment- he just returned from Egypt with the team and had huge success. Meanwhile, Carrie is excelling in the fashion industry, climbing the corporate ladder with her expertise and determination. We’re incredibly proud of both of them!
Nicole and Chanty’s Big Year
Nicole has continued to grow professionally as a speech therapist, making a meaningful impact on her clients. On a personal note, she and Chanty celebrated a major milestone—getting married! It was a beautiful celebration filled with love, joy, and the support of family and friends, marking an exciting new chapter in their lives. We’ve got high hopes on these two for our first grandchildren…no pressure!!
Lance and Skyler’s Epic Adventures
Lance and Skyler have been living life to the fullest! After working in Austria for five months, they traveled across Europe and Asia, immersing themselves in different cultures. The highlight of their adventures was spending 8 weeks working in Antarctica. They are now planning their next adventure…who knows??
Taking Responsibility (and Giving it the Finger)
One of the most significant shifts we’ve seen so far this year is how Irresponsible Adults is evolving into more than just a blog – it’s becoming a movement. As we continue to inspire others to redefine adulthood, we see more people embracing their desires for new beginnings. Forget about “the responsible path” society often tells us to follow. We are taking the bold step into things that truly excite us, whether it’s a new business, a different career, or simply giving ourselves permission to do things our way.
As part of this shift, we’ve made time to give back. Supporting two incredible charities – Project Rhino and The Waterberg Wild Dog Initiative – has been a powerful reminder that, as Irresponsible Adults, it’s our duty to care about the world around us. Helping protect rhinos and wild dogs is just one of the ways we’re taking responsibility in our own way, creating change where we can.
Where We’re Headed Next
So, what’s next for Irresponsible Adults? Well, we’re just getting started. With our affiliate marketing business up and running, we’re about to take it to new heights, expanding our outreach, and engaging with even more people who are ready to break free from the routine and embrace the unknown. We’re also deep into working on more resources for you – from practical tools for living a fulfilling life to the stories that remind us all that it’s never too late to make a change.
But most importantly, we’re going to keep living our best, most responsible irresponsible lives – one adventure, one challenge, one leap of faith at a time.
