Life often has a way of throwing curveballs when we least expect it. For us, the collision came as we poured our resources into funding our children’s education and keeping our business afloat. This left us with little to jumpstart our own quest for a new beginning. Despite the setbacks, we remain undeterred, holding steadfast to our faith in the journey ahead. Now, in our mid to late 50s, we are acutely aware of the finite nature of time and the urgency to seize the moments before the curtain falls on this chapter of our lives.

Our quest for authenticity has already begun. It started with the humble act of decluttering our physical spaces, parting ways with material possessions, and selling our home. Our aim is simple: to secure a means of sustenance that aligns with our values and aspirations. Through a stroke of serendipity, we stumbled upon an organization that resonates deeply with our ethos, offering remote work opportunities that transcend geographical boundaries.
The Marathon to Financial Independence
We understand that this journey to financial independence is not a sprint but a marathon, requiring perseverance and dedication. Yet, we hold firm to the belief that within the next 8-12 months, we will achieve self-sufficiency. As we embark on this path, we recognize the delicate dance between cause and effect, and the importance of sharing our experiences to cultivate a community of kindred spirits.
Seeking Support for Our 2025 Adventure
The funding we seek would enable us to commence our travels in early 2025, covering essential expenses such as fuel and accommodation until our self-sustaining endeavors take root. Our itinerary spans the rugged landscapes of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and back again—a journey we envision spanning anywhere from 6 months to a year.
